More Info

Hunter Stephens is 10 years old and one of the bravest people our family has ever known. It all started back in 2012 when Hunter started having headaches. Unfortunately it was a brain tumor. Hunter endured a brain operation and the surgeons removed what they could, but the brain is so sensitive they could not get it all. They started chemo treatments to shrink the remainder of the tumor and it was working! Once Hunter ended the chemo the tumor began to grow again. This tumor slowly diminished his motor functions and he had to begin using a wheel chair. More recently this growth has paralyzed the right side of Hunters throat and a feeding tube had to be inserted. Shortly after he caught pneumonia due to fluid going into his lungs from the right side of this throat being paralyzed but thankfully they caught it at the beginning stages and he over came it. Hunter then FINALLY got to go home (Longview, TX) after spending so much time at the Children's Medical Center (Dallas, TX). Due to sleep apnea from the tumor he now has to have a CPAP machine to help him breath at night. On the night of 4/29 Hunter stopped breathing and the machines alarm did not go off to alert anyone. His mother Jennifer Stephens found him purple, blue and unconscious.CPR was started, 911 was called and he was flown to Children's Medical Center in Dallas, TX immediately. He was put on life support and began having seizures. The doctors tried a new medicine to stop the seizures. If they did not work within 4 hours Jennifer and Bradley had made the decision to un-hook Hunter from life support. Unfortunately it was not Gods will to keep Hunter here with us and heaven gained a wonderful angel on 5/1/2014. We ask for your donations and your prayers that the family may find peace and comfort at this hard time. Your donation can help with medical expenses, traveling costs and now unfortunately funeral costs. If you are unable to donate we ask that you pray for the family. Your prayers and donations mean more than you will ever know.

Thank you.
