we are trying to raise money for the homeless people & veterans living on our streets today. With homeless numbers on the rise & so much of it on tv & social media we felt compelled to do something to help, we spent days wondering what we could do to make a difference, so we set about starting our own cause (H.A.L.O) Homeless And Living Outside. Are aim is to stay in touch on a regular basis with the homeless & to raise as much money as we can to buy these people the basics they need. After meeting with & talking to some of the homeless people we found that they wanted such basic things like toothbrush & toothpaste, hand sanitizer, face wipes, shaving foam and razors. Vouchers for hot drinks & food, blankets & warm clothing, even dog food or treats for their dogs. And what really touched us was that many of them just wanted company, someone to sit down and talk to instead of being ignored and abused by society.The homeless have the right to be helped and supported. Even teenagers have contacted us wanting to help the homeless. I think this would be a great opportunity for the younger generation to come and give out basic bags and it will give them a newfound respect & understanding of why and how people become homeless. If we are able to raise any money we will use it to buy the things they have asked us for, No cash will be given due to drug and alcohol abuse, however this does not mean we wont help them just because they have an addiction we will treat everyone the same and will offer them all the help we can By putting them in touch with other organisations that can also help, we hope in the future to have premises where the homeless can come for help & support a bath & something to eat. Please help us to help them. I know we wont end homelessness By our self but we CAN make a difference and continue to raise awareness With your support. Thank you in advance.
