More Info

Lucy, a 13 year old 8th grader out of Woodville, Texas, noticed a lump growing on her chest in October.  After a few visits to doctors, they left each visit no closer to answers of what could be causing the lump.

When Lucy's Mom noticed that she was having trouble breathing while she slept, they knew that she needed to get professional help in the hospital.

Unfortunately, this is where the story really begins.  After weeks of testing and scans, there was only one scan that showed signs of cancer-like cells throughout her chest.  It was at that point that the decision was made to begin chemotherapy treatment.

After her first treatment, Lucy began to experience migraines and a loss of cognitive function.  She was having trouble remembering who she is and continues to have trouble recognizing her parents and family.

The lump on her chest has started to reduce in size and no longer presents a danger to her breathing, so she has been released from the hospital.  However, her cognitive decline means that she needs constant 24/7 care, as it's like having a newborn child, but at 13 years old.

Lucy has a long road ahead of her, including more chemotherapy to treat the cancer cells in her chest and rehabilitation for her cognitive functions.  Her Mom, Kristina and her Dad, Chris, are asking for the community's help to support them during this time.

Donations here will help Kristina and Chris with medical bills and new expenses to care for Lucy.  We are asking for the Jasper and Woodville communities to donate to help this family.  If just 300 people donate $50, they will meet their fundraising goal.
