About Me

In 2011, I left my job and became and AmeriCorps VISTA member serving with Habitat for Humanity International. After serving 2 one-year terms as a VISTA, I joined HFHI as a member of the Volunteer Mobilization and Innovation department. As part of my job, I help other people schedule trips to build houses. This is m y chance to get out of the office and onto a build site.

I was lucky enough to grow up in a decent home, but a lot of people don't have the same opportunity. This is my chance to help build a house so someone else will have the opportunity to live in a simple, decent, affordable home.

Part of the money raised will assist in paying my trip costs. The remainder is a donation that will help further the vision of "A world where everyone has a decent place to live."

In FY 2013 alone, 570 Habitat -AmeriCorps members served more than 3,400 families – more than a third of U.S. families Habitat partnered with – raised 4.4 million dollars in cash and in-kind resources and engaged more than 260,000 volunteers.
