Too young to feel like this... I'm a 39-year-old male who was diagnosed with End Stage Kidney Failure a little over 2 years ago.
I refuse to give up on life as I made a promise to my niece after her father (my brother) passed 8 years ago that I would be there for her. I can't wait to see the woman she grows up to be .. and I'm determined to keep that promise no matter what hardships I may face, so far there have already been so many hurdles I've jumped to just get where I am today.
I have had roughly 12 surgeries in the past two years, Blood infection due to a catheter port in my chest that had me septic causing a long hospital stay, and even coded once during a surgery that was supposed to be just routine.
I am doing everything I can to get healthier to get a Kidney transplant. I Work 5-6 days a week 8-12 hours a day and am thankful for my job and all I have but I am drowning in Credit card debt and living paycheck to paycheck.
I am currently looking for any assistance to pay off medical bills and also to help my quality of life......with medication being expensive and having a stringent diet I must follow which is more expensive than the horrible food that is easily accessible I am struggling to make ends meet. At any point, if I required a long stay away from work I would lose everything.
I would just like to not feel so defeated and under pressure while just trying to survive. so any help at all would be appreciated.
I know this is temporary and I will come out the the other side of this a stronger person and I look forward to helping someone else out once I'm there.
