Mo Silva

Most of you know my brother Mo as a friend or a barber or both. He has a big heart and is always willing to help those in need.  From a car ride, food, or even a place to stay, he lends a hand. In November of 2023, he was hospitalized due to stage 4 kidney disease here in Garden City.  Within a few days his condition worsened and was flown to St. Joseph hospital in Wichita, KS. There he was surrounded by his family, the love of his life Nallely, amazing hospital staff, and his nephrologist.  Within a few days it was urgent for Mo to start dialysis because his kidney function had dropped from 22% down to 10% and major swelling in his abdomen, thighs, and face. The first 2 rounds of dialysis 6.5 liters of fluid were pulled from his body with more to go. This fundraiser we (my family & I) started, will help with medical and essential necessities. This is a new season and new chapter in Mo's life and those around him.  As he navigates his way through this season and chapter, he will need as much support and help as possible. With your financial generosity this will help lessen stress and worry for our brother as he gains his strength back, to get back to what he loves the most, helping others with a fresh haircut, a kind word, or just an ear to listen to those who sit in his chair. My family and I are extremely thankful to all those who can help.
