Chitown Champions (501c3) has a legacy of equipping youth to be resilient leaders. We Inspire, Empower & Equip young champions to Adapt to Change and Thrive into adulthood! Our alumni are just flat out great people! Some are teachers, doctors, first responders, entrepreneurs and hundreds of other success stories.
When "Hope" came into our program as a High School Senior, she was failing and ready to drop out. Seven months later at our Senior Award ceremony she thanked our program for helping her recommit to her scholastics and see her own worth. Hope graduated with honors. Hope shared that when she joined our program she was committed to serious self-harm and had already determined her plan. When asked, "what changed?" She said, on her first day with us, the Coach said "I believe in you". Hope said that in 18 years, no one had ever told her those words and she wanted to see what we would say next! Recently, she returned as an alumni and encouraged teens with her story of how she was thriving, completing college and starting her own business. A number of teens related to her mental state of self-harm and expressed new found courage to talk to their parents and seek help.
I'm Coach Roger. I am a survivor of the stress, trauma and darkness that leads one to self-harm. I know the joy, hope and power awaiting on the other side of healing. And I also know the power of support. Our 4 pillars of excellence are
We are 35 years young and thriving. We want you to see what we see when you look at our youth. When we see them, we see HOPE! This generation of young people is struggling in so many new and different ways. We are excited about helping them grow beyond their circumstances to where they want to be.
